DBFA President Judy O’Brien attended a press conference with Baltimore City Council President Jack Young yesterday, August 11. The conference was held to rally support for keeping Baltimore City public pools open until Labor Day. O’Brien attended on behalf of DBFA families to remind the city council of families’ use of the pools as a way to provide a sense of community and build connectedness. The extension of the pool season is a great victory for DBFA, as we worked hard earlier in the summer to reestablish “family time” at city pools. O’Brien felt positive about working with City Council President Young on future initiatives regarding family life in downtown Baltimore.
