DBFA works with other nonprofits as well as Baltimore City Public Schools to ensure that children receive high-quality education within their own neighborhoods. We strive to ensure that resources are available to help all levels of students succeed in City Schools.

School & Children's Programming Fair
Each year DBFA holds its annual School & Children's Programming Fair. This event, attended by more than 200 families, facilitates parents' learning about public school and other programming options. Participating schools have included Federal Hill Preparatory Elementary School, Wolfe Street Academy, and activities such as youth soccer, baseball, and dance classes.

Baltimore Education Coalition
DBFA believes that education is a chief factor for families living downtown. BEC, of which DBFA is a member organization, is a group of education advocacy organizations and concerned citizens united to ensure that Baltimore City public school students receive their fair share of Maryland's education funds. As a member of BEC, DBFA works to ensure that downtown parents are well informed on school budgeting issues. To that end, BEC and DBFA have worked together to successfully organize letter-writing campaigns and rallies. We also have a dedicated parent volunteer to ensure that our constituents are kept informed of the issues and are able to act quickly and effectively.
