The Ella Bailey Recreation Center is located near Riverside Park and operates 1 p.m.–9 p.m. during the school year and 8 a.m.–6 p.m. in the summer. The After-School Adventures program runs from September to June, and the summer camp program runs for a number of weeks in the summer. Center activities include Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments, a soccer league, science clubs, nature studies, 4-H events, tennis, a reading roundup, and more.

The Locust Point Recreation Center is located at Latrobe Park in Locust Point and operates 2 p.m.–8 p.m. in the spring, and 10 a.m.–6 p.m. in the summer. The center offers dance programs, after-school reading and math programs, play groups, computer classes, arts and crafts, and other activities for children. The Locust Point Tap and Ballet program is also housed within this facility and runs from November to May. The Locust Point Tap and Ballet program is a popular program for local children and ends with a recital at a local church performance stage.

The Ralph J. Young Recreation Center is located in Butcher’s Hill and operates from 1 p.m.–9 p.m. during the fall and winter months. After-school program activities include homework assistance, computer time, a basketball clinic, and other gym activities. In the evenings, the center is available for community meetings, game room activities, and Play Station activities. The center also contains a weight room, basketball clinic, and open gym. From June through August, the center holds a summer camp with multiple activities that include nature hikes, sports, martial arts, playground activities, and swimming at the Patterson Park pool.

The Virginia Baker Recreation Center, located in Patterson Park, includes a multi-purpose room, gymnasium, game room, meeting room, kitchen, and a computer lab. Programs are offered for children ages 5 years old and up, which include tutoring, crafts, dance, karate, aerobics, basketball, and volleyball. Summer camps are also available for children 5–11 years old. Virginia Baker will undergo renovation to become a green facility and home to the Audubon Program, which provides a host of eco-friendly social, recreational, and education offerings.

The South Baltimore Recreation Center is located in Federal Hill across the street from Bank of America and the Cross Street Market. The center operates 2:30–6:30 p.m. for their after-school program and 6:00–8:45 p.m. for their evening program. The center’s summer hours are extended from 8 a.m.–6 p.m., and activities include Dance Dance Revolution, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band tournaments. Children enrolled in the summer camp program participate in dance and drama practice, volleyball, reading time, various field trips, and swimming at the Riverside Pool.
