Baltimore has a great selection of farmers’ markets located around and within our neighborhoods. With everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to organic meats and fresh-cut flowers, buying from a local farmers’ market is an excellent way to practice a healthy lifestyle while supporting the local agricultural community and economy. Many farmers use environmentally sustainable practices by using fewer pesticides and by not using antibiotics or growth hormones. The Baltimore Farmers’ Market is located downtown on Saratoga Street between Holiday and Gay streets (under the JFX Viaduct) and is open on Sundays 8 a.m. to noon from May 3 to December 20. Free parking is available.
The Farmers’ Market at the BMI is located at 1415 Key Highway in the parking lot of the Baltimore Museum of Industry and is open on Saturdays 9 a.m.–1 p.m. from June 6 to October 31. Free parking is available.
The Harbor East FRESHFARM Market is located downtown at the 1000 block of Lancaster Street between South Exeter Street and Central Avenue and is open on Saturdays 8 a.m. to noon from June 6 to November 21.
The Highlandtown Farmers’ Market is located at the 3500 block of Bank Street at the corner of Bank and S. Conkling streets and is open on Saturdays 8 a.m. to noon from June 27 to October 31.
The Johns Hopkins Hospital Farmers’ Market is located at 601 N. Caroline Street between Caroline and Broadway (next to the John Hopkins Out Patient Center) and is open on Thursdays 10 a.m.–2 p.m. from June to October.
The University Farmer’s Market is located in the park across the street from hospital’s main entrance, along the Paca Street sidewalk. The market is open 10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. from May until October.
