Christ Lutheran Church

Christ Lutheran Church is located in the heart of the Otterbein and Federal Hill neighborhoods of South Baltimore. On Sunday mornings, the church holds two traditional worship services (8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.), a contemporary worship services (8:45 a.m.), and Sunday school for all ages (9:45 a.m.). The church also offers a nursery program, youth groups, an annual picnic, a Christmas pageant, and several other social and religious activities for families. Many local residents enroll their children in Christ Lutheran's nursery school for children ages 2–4, which offers flexible school days and hours.


Christ United Church

Christ United offers a nursery program for babies and toddlers and a Sunday school program for school-age children up to age 12. Children ages 11–13 attend confirmation classes. The church also hosts their annual Oktoberfest for families.


Church of the Advent

Church of the Advent is an Anglo Catholic Church located in Federal Hill. Sunday school and nursery services are offered for children during the 10 a.m. adult service. On the fourth Monday of each month, the church feeds homeless men at the South Baltimore Station. The church also hosts community crab cake suppers twice a year in June and October.


Church of the Redemption

Church of the Redemption is located in Locust Point and offers Sunday school classes for children ages 3 through high school during the adult service at 10 a.m.


The Church on Warren Avenue at Federal Hill

The Church on Warren Avenue is a family-oriented community church. The church is also home to Warren Fine Arts Academy of Music, which offers private, group, and chamber music instruction for the voice, violin, viola, cello, piano, classical guitar, and contemporary guitar.


Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church

Grace City/Grace Fellowship Church

(Downtown location is at Federal Hill Preparatory School) Grace Fellowship Church is located in three locations: Timonium, Shrewsbury, and Federal Hill. Sunday worship services begin at 10:30 a.m. at Federal Hill Preparatory School. Children's programs are offered to babies through fifth graders during these worship services. The programs are divided by age and grade to include a nursery and preschool for newborns through prekindergarten, an elementary program for children in kindergarten through third grade, and a preteen ministry for children in fourth and fifth grades.


Holy Cross Church

(A church of the Catholic Community of South Baltimore) Religious education classes for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade, known as CCD classes, are offered once a week in the evening. The youth ministry for grades 9–12 occurs in the afternoon on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. The youth ministry and all religious education classes take place in the Catholic Community School building at 300 Gittings Street in Federal Hill. Children may also participate in the Children's Liturgy of the Word on Sunday mornings. Call the church office for current playgroups for babies, toddlers, and preschool-age children. The church also hosts several mom's night out activities and year-round family events for Advent, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost.


Light Street Presbyterian Church

Located in historic Federal Hill, Light Street Presbyterian Church holds a worship celebration at 11 a.m. on Sundays followed by a fellowship hour at noon. A Christian education and Bible study is also offered earlier at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday. Families can enjoy a Christmas service on Christmas Eve each year at 6 p.m. The church also offers Joyful Noise, gathering of young children through age 4 with their parents and friends. Joyful Noise meets on the third Sunday of each month at 10:15 a.m.


Old Otterbein United Methodist Church

Old Otterbein is a historic yet contemporary church located downtown between the Inner Harbor and Camden Yards and within walking distance of Federal Hill. Sunday worship service, which children are welcome and encouraged to attend, begins at 11 a.m. Child care is also available. The church's “kids corner” is a space for children to be cared for while they read books and play with toys. The church hosts annual family events throughout the year to include a Christmas Eve pageant, an Easter egg hunt, and Parents' Night Out, which is open to the community.


Our Lady of Good Council Church

Riverside Baptist Church

Riverside Baptist Church is located near the Inner Harbor and holds Sunday school at 9:30 a.m., followed by worship service for all ages at 11 a.m. Riverside Baptist is involved with several ministries that include feeding the homeless, a music ministry, a youth group, and vacation bible school for children during the summer.


Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church

Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church is located in Riverside, just south of Federal Hill. Their informal family service begins at 10 a.m. on Sundays. During service, children may go to the children's room where they hear stories and explore crafts. At the end of the service children re-enter the sanctuary to hear the Salem Band. The church hosts an annual picnic, a Winter Wonderland, Breakfast with Santa, and many other family-friendly activities. Salem Lutheran is also home to several non-affiliated community-based programs, such new parent groups, music classes for tots and preschoolers, and children's dance, acting, and theater classes.

Streetlite Christian Fellowship

Streetlite Christian Fellowship is located in the heart of Federal Hill just behind Federal Hill Park. Sunday services begin at 10:15 a.m., and Sunday school is offered for all ages. A nursery is also available during service for younger children. The church holds many ministries that include, but are not limited to, a women's ministry that partners with the Pink Tote ministry for women on the street and the Beautiful Feet ministry for the homeless. The church has an active youth group, children's ministry, and a preschool with day care hours for children ages 2–5. Streetlite also hosts the Upward Basketball program offering basketball and cheerleading for boys and girls in grades K–8. In addition, the Mom's Coffee House, a monthly community of mothers with children from birth through 5 years old, meet at Streetlite to enjoy fellowship together free from the responsibility of children. Babysitting, coffee, and snacks are all provided free of charge.
