Heidi Vorrasi graduated from Tufts University in Boston with a double major in economics and international relations. She worked in investment banking in Boston before moving to Buffalo, NY to attend graduate school at the University at Buffalo School of Management. Heidi and her husband John relocated to Baltimore in 2008 and chose to raise their children Ethan and Claire in Federal Hill. Both in Buffalo and in Baltimore, Heidi worked as an executive associate at M&T Bank, managing the marketing and proposal process for the Treasury Management Division. She currently serves as the chair of the Clean and Green Committee for the South Baltimore Neighborhood Association and she successfully started South Baltimore's first community garden. Nina McCarthy has been a volunteer with the Downtown Baltimore Family Alliance since February of 2008 and was the co-chair for DBFA's first egg hunt in Patterson Park in March 2008. In her professional life, she was a marketing manager for Stansberry & Associates Investment Research. Prior to joining Stansberry, her background was primarily in event planning with Donna's Cafe and Bibelot Bookstores, coordinating and publicizing national and local author events. Originally from Rye, New York, she came to Maryland to attend college at Towson University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in mass communications and met her husband Tom. They moved downtown in 1997 and currently reside in Canton with daughter Ella, who attends St. Casimir Catholic School. Nina served as the chair of DBFA's marketing committee from 2008 to 2009 and is currently the staff event planner and programs assistant. She can be reached at nina@dbfam.org.

 

Miranda Wulff Altschuler graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2005 with a degree in graphic design and a concentration in painting. She began her professional career at a local graphic design studio, where she acted as senior designer with clients ranging from the United Way of Central Maryland to Kennedy Krieger Institute. Miranda found her true calling as a mother in 2009 with the birth of her daughter Fiona. She now stays home and works during naptime with several family-oriented companies and organizations. Miranda lives in her beloved Fell's Point with her husband Sheldon, daughter Fiona, and stepson Elijah, who attends The New Century School. Miranda is the graphic design and e-marketing manager for the Downtown Baltimore Family Alliance. 

 

Emily Riddick is a Canton resident and mom to Nathan and Maya. Before having children, she worked in advertising as a broadcast negotiator and later as an account manager for Petry Media Corporation. Prior to moving to Baltimore in 2007, she lived in San Francisco, where she met her husband Kevin. Emily grew up in San Diego County and graduated from the University of California, Riverside. In addition to her work for DBFA, Emily is the bookkeeper for the Greater Baltimore Technology Council. She is also an active DBFA volunteer and a founder of Roots and Branches Charter School. Since moving to Baltimore, she has served as a literacy tutor for the Greater Homewood Community Corporation and a tree surveyor for Parks and People. Emily is the membership coordinator and bookkeeper for the Downtown Baltimore Family Alliance.

 

Molly Saint-James is a freelance writer and editor who lives in Upper Fells Point with her husband Ian, daughters Ellie and Poppy, and two hound dogs. Originally from Houston, Molly lived in Austin, New York City, and London before settling in Baltimore with her family in 2007. She formerly worked as an advertising copywriter and has bachelor's degrees in journalism and English from The University of Texas at Austin. Molly is the editor for the Downtown Baltimore Family Alliance.

 

 

Claire Mullins has been a resident of Federal Hill since 1996. With a commitment to nonprofit work, Claire has previously served as vice president of communications for the American Lung Association of Maryland and director of communications for the Baltimore Museum of Industry. Originally from Montgomery County, she lived abroad for a time during college while pursuing a degree in international studies, and afterward while teaching English in the Czech Republic. Claire and her husband Wesley have two daughters, Genevieve and Alexandra. Claire is the director of communications for the Downtown Baltimore Family Alliance.
