DBFA defines "downtown"as all areas of Baltimore City south of North Avenue. Aside from public service projects that target areas of acute need and outreach initiatives that extend across downtown, DBFA focuses its efforts on those downtown neighborhoods in which the organization has an active volunteer base. Currently, those areas include: the Southeast Baltimore communities of Brewer's Hill, Butcher's Hill, Canton, Fell's Point, Fell's Prospect, Harbor East, Highlandtown, Little Italy, Patterson Park, Patterson Place, Upper Fells Point, and Washington Hill; the South Baltimore communities of Federal Hill, Harbor View, Locust Point, Otterbein, and Riverside; the Southwest Baltimore communities of Barre Circle, Camden Crossing, Ridgely's Delight, and Pigtown; and Mount Vernon and Bolton Hill. We welcome families from all downtown communities and expect our neighborhoods of focus to expand as the organization develops. We also welcome anyone who shares our mission and vision as members, supporters, and volunteers, regardless of his or her location or family status.
